Composing for Black Lake Season 2

I can now reveal that I am composing the music for the Swedish TV-series Svartsjön or Black Lake as it is called in English. The second season will see Filip Berg and Hedda Stiernstedt play the leading roles. The first four episodes are directed by long time friend and companion Richard Jarnhed and shot by Emil Klang.

The 4 last episodes are directed by Per Simonsson and shot by Nicklas Karpaty. Lotta Westberg from Jarowskij is producing.

Today it’s ten years ago when one my early pieces were performed by The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra live on Skansen in Stockholm. The performance was shown live on national Swedish TV (SVT) and watched by over a million people.

The piece were first composed by me when I was 14 (at least the tune) and then used by me and Simon Heath in the duo Za Frûmi.

Projects

2017 have been a good year so far with some commissioned work with Commercials, the release of the original soundtrack of Ave Mater (Vilsen). The completion of the Music for the internationally awarded game “Conduct This!” was inspiring and work for the Uppsala based Company “Populate” was rewarding.

The year, though started off with the long lasting collaboration with Joel Forssell as we finished White Trash (Vitt Skräp), we will go back to it one more time later on when the sound is complete, which is the only thing left to do Before mix.

As of late, I have been working on a Romantic Drama feature. I worked with an Orchestra in Lisabon and also delve into the World of oriental Music.

It is clear that I during the autumn will work with an extensive Project that I cannot reveal yet. Sorry for all the secrecy, but that’s the name of the game.

Besides the composing I am one of the founders of a Swedish interest organization called “Musik I Film” (Music in Film) which will work with spreading knowledge (about) and unity among Music in film, Theatre, media and games.

Ave Mater score released by MovieScore Media

I have been a fan of MovieScore Media for a while now so it’s a very good feeling to be released on that great label. Ave Mater (Vilsen) is a score I am very proud of. Click HERE to go to MovieScore Medias page about the score.

Composing the score meant me setting out on a journey to create something dark, exciting and filled with suspense, but not horror. Rasmus was rather clear that he felt that the music should be the ‘beating heart and soul of the film’, a true guide throughout the story. To work with a couple of clear themes got important with the choir and the cello became crucial to capture the feeling of the occult.
