Dystopia will be released on VIAPLAY for the Scandinavian audience on the 13th of June. I have composed all the music for the 8 episodes, including the vignette. I am incredibly pleased with this series and the score.
I worked close to director and scriptwriter Richard Jarnhed on creating a haunting sound with lots of industrial elements. I recorded sound from Stockholm’s oldest railroad tunnel and incorporated both classical instruments and lots of synthetic ones in creating a dark and jarring score.
My emphasize was more on sound-building rather than orchestration which was an active choice as the TV-Series centers around a group of friends that are arranging a great Post-Apocalyptic Nordic LARP in an old factory on the Swedish countryside. Abandoned since the 80s during the Cold War. When the group arrives to the remote location, unexpected things start to happen, Events that triggers dark forces within and outside of the group.
The series is produced by Jarowskij (Banijay) and ordered by NENT Group.
