As you might know I composed all the Music to the second season of Svartsjön, or Black Lake as it is called internationally. In october the season premiers and Viaplay and Swedish TV3 have released a teaser.
It’s not my Music in this teaser, you have to wait to hear my score a little while longer.
I really had a blast from start to finish working with this great series! I composed the Music to all 8 episodes and worked with my wonderful friend and Tulpa-Brother Richard Jarnhed (who directed the first four episodes). I also, for the first time, worked with director Per Simonsson (who directed episode 5-8) whom I really enjoyed working with! I would love to Work with Per (and of course Richard) again!
The season will be aired in october so I will for sure get back to this later on! So many wonderful people involved in this Project!
I am still composing music for the second season of Black Lake (Svartsjön) and will go from that to compose the music (with Moneybrother) to the docuementary I produced. I have also composed the music to my long time friend Daniel Bezares’s TV-series pilot Ahmed.
During the summer (2018) the film “Viking Saga: Rune of the Dead” will be shot in Sweden. I will compose the music. Director is Rasmus Titzitis and the film is written by Faravid Svalfors af Ugglas and Rasmus Tirzitis. The film’s dialouge will be in english and film will be released worldwide by the US company behind the film called ITN. Below is a summary taken from IMDB. Continue reading →

Here’s a couple of qoutes:
“The low-poly visuals are gorgeous, the music is incredibly well done, and the puzzles themselves are clever and challenging” – AppAdvice
“the music itself (composed by Simon Kölle) is rather charming and delightful”
- Christine Chan
“and the new music alone (composed by Simon Kölle) is rather charming and pleasant” – Gaby Baginsky
“Conduct THIS!, winner of the International Mobile Gaming Awards and played by more than 3 million people. Fantastic soundtrack by composer Simon Kölle.”
“As the main story in the movie is the occult, Simon Kolle goes on with both the choir and the cello to express that musically. I must admit the music is alluring and I want to know more, the composer manages to infuse his cues with the fascination of the occult.”
“Call me crazy but there were moments when I felt a gust of Hitchcock passing through this score, better said a gust of Bernard Herrmann like suspense. All in all “Ave mater” is an interesting listen on its own.”
“It’s little things like the way Simon Kolle uses the voices and choir throughout this score that make me want to pay attention to his future works. The way he side steps generic music and filler cues also make me really enjoy his composition. There are little exciting and unexpected nuggets of music in almost every cue. It might be my vivid imagination inspired by the music but the way “A slit throat” is constructed. sounds to me like the blood quietly flowing out of that throat.”
- Mihnea Manduteanu, Soundtrack Dreams
Ave Mater is due to be released in Japan and the date the film will air on Japanese national TV is the 4th of january 2018.
