Here’s a short preview of the documentary Simon made music to. The first part of this documentary will be aired 22:30 (swedish time) on TV4 Sport on saturday the 24th of november.
The ambitious short film called The Box was directed by long time friend and partner in crime Richard Jarnhed and now a preliminary score has been made. A preliminary score had to be made so the Göteborg Film Festival could get a copy in time to review. The score will be complete late 2012.
The Box is a David Lynch inspired film about a mysterious box. A real test for Simon as the music range from surreal, action, 50s film music and Mysterious.
Suddenly Simon remembered a review, of his CD with Musterion entitled “The Wondrous Journey through the Catacombs of Life”, published in “Judas Kiss”. This particular review was so well written that Simon has not forgot it even though it was written a couple of years back. The review began like this:
From the maddening labyrinths of Kafka and Lovecraft to the subverted reality of auteurs such as David Lynch, the mind has served as centre stage upon which a theatre of disorder is arrayed and played out. It is only natural then, that such theatre sits comfortably also within a purely audible medium. Simon Kölle, having a background in theatre and music, is well placed to further explore the demonic shades of the subconscious through his compositions.
Simon is working with the second short film in the Drakar och Demoner project. This short is called Drej Svartebrand and feature Erik Bolin (Troste) and Jenny-Li Levin (Jorna).
The musicians that worked with Giltes Bane also work on Drej Svartebrand. A special shutout to Susanne Cermenius, Arvid Rask, Oskar Sedemark. Thanks! Drej Svartebrand is produced/written by Stefan Rydehed and directed by Fredrik Engelhag.
