The Mixing of White Trash

”White Trash” or” Vitt Skräp” (in Swedish) has been delayed and delayed several times but finally it’s close to be a finished movie. The Score, me and Joel Forssell, completed in September and last night I did some final changes as the sound and music is being mixed by the great Ken Skoglund and Lasse Liljeholm. Looking forward to a theatrical release 2020.

Completed the score for Vitt Skräp (White Trash)

After five years in the making. Me and my fellow composer on this score, Joel Forssell, did a version of this score for some 4 years ago but as the edit changed and the look as well, we and the director felt that we needed an almost completely new score. Only 3-4 cues (of 41) was kept from the earlier version and during august and September we have finished the new score for this Crime/Thriller set in a small town in Sweden during the 80s.
Now we have handed the score over to the celebrated and esteemed Sound mixer/editor/designers Ken Skoglund and Lasse Liljeholm.

Plot: In a Swedish town in the 80s, two strangers ends up by accident in the middle of a drug deal.

What a year!

On the premier of The Perfect Weapon (2016) and The Legend of Dark Rider: The Beginning

What a year it has been for Simon Kölle!

THE MUSIC

It all began with finishing the last couple of cues for Vilsen (Ave Mater), making some additional music for the short Gola Inte, making some music to a roleplaying game, a logo and making the music for a computer game.

After doing a commercial Simon finished the music to the, later on, several award winning short “Legend of Dark Rider: The begining”, who became a hit. Composing for yet another commercial – this time Grabber screws and then start working on a app game called Conduct This! A game that’s now a huge hit and on the toplists in many countries. Simon revisited the game many month’s later to make even more music.

Then Simon finally made his Hollywood debut compsoing the music for The Perfect Weapon (2016) directed by Titus Paar who also directed Legend of Dark Rider: The Begining. Right after that Simon made some improvational music fot the Event/LARP The Solution were the participants listened to the music nonstop for 48 hours.

Simon helped his friends Pixelbeast at The Game Assembly out with composing the music to their examination computer game Zvonar.

Simon produced and composed the music for the short film #Ingenskitiminkropp which is a film about doping in martial arts. The film will be released early 2017. Director Richard Jarnhed co produced and directed the film.

Late in the summer, Simon started to compose music for americal trailers together with director Rasmus Tirzitis. A total of 6 trailers were done during the autumn. Simon also founded the trailer music group called STK Group.

Simon composed the music for two commercials for the company BEX with Titus Paar as the director.

Simon started working with Paradox Interactive on a small project that could lead to more. Director/editor Rasmus Tirzitis created the final trailer for Vilsen (Ave Mater) and Simon composed the music.

Director/writer Richard Jarnhed created 4 event films for Hotell Kung Carl and Simon both composed the music and worked with sound design on the project.

In November and December Simon, together with Joel Forssell, composed the music for Vitt Skräp (White Trash) yet again but this time with a different sound and approach. As some small changes are left to do early 2017 it will be counted as a 2017 production.

Writing and Producing

Together with long time friend Richard Jarnhed they founded the platform Tulpa Creatives which will work in many constellations and with different projects. The first Tulpa Creatives projects were the Hotel-films and the drama documentary #Ingenskitiminkropp.

Tulpa Creatives have during some time now developed a TV Series (with Henrik Summanen and Joel Forssell) and late in december Simon and Richard started yet another project together with actor and executive producer Mattias Lundberg. The two projects differ a lot in both style and scope. More information will come on www.tulpa.nu

Simon was also one of the producers of Vilsen (Ave Mater) and was responsible for making a distribution deal and much more.

Last but not least Simon kept on writing for martial arts on www.fightermag.se and worked as sports commentator.

2017

Several interesting projects are about to take form. Simon will early in 2017 compose the music for a feature film and record an orchestra in Lisabon. The developing of two different TV series will be something Simon work a lot with. Simon is open for job offers and collaborations as a composer, composer and writer. Simon’s main focus is always composing though but the love for writing and producing are close second.

Composing for trailers

Simon founded the STK Group this summer which compose music for american trailers. Simon collaborates with director and editor Rasmus Tirzitis who edit trailers for an USA based distributor mainly focusing on indiependent films but also other more mainstream releases.

So far Simon has composed the music for three trailers. STK Group consist of composers Simon has gathered to, for starters, help him out when he has to much to do but it might evolve to something more. The talented members of the group are except the founder Simon Kölle:

Hans Lundgren – a Swedish film composer

Joel Forssell – a Swedish film composer

Jeroen van Hiel – a Belgian composer

If you are interested in having Simon and The STK Group to compose for your trailer don’t hesitate to contact Simon simonalbin@hotmail.com

Simon and Joel Forssell are yet again working on Vitt Skräp. This time the duo will create a new score with a different style and vibe than before. Both Simon and Joel are very inspired by the task of composing for this

Vilsen: Recording Lidingö Chamber Choir

A small part of the great choir

Simon has recorded the Lidingö Chamber Choir for the feature film Vilsen (The Loss). Arranged by friend and colleague Joel Forssell and recorded by the skilled friend Oskar Sedemark. On two occasions the choir was recorded and it will play a vital part in the score. A main theme and another theme was recorded but also lot’s of other neat stuff as chants in the vein of Omen.

The 20-25 members of the choir was lead by the great conductor Johan Holgersson. Johan’s great open and spirited attitude was fantastic and Simon like to work with this choir and Johan on many future projects if possible.

Simon like to thank the choir, Joel, Johan and Oskar from the bottom of his heart!

The beginning of something great

A great team!

Except composing music at the moment for a major company (secret project) with Richard Jarnhed as director, writing for an upcoming interactive theatre event, composing (only started) for the film Vilsen or “The Loss” as it is called in english (the score will feature two choirs) and working as a commentator at MMA events and being the editor in chief at Fightplay.tv something great has begun!

After months of preparation’s Simon and his friend Joel Forssell teamed up with a crew of really talented artists: Omar Fye, Richard Jarnhed, Rasmus Tirzitis, Love Kölle, Andreas Doyle and Erik Bolin. The reason for the meet was to begin a project which Simon has dreamt about for a long time. More updates will come later on about this project and more.

A Behind the Music video from the work with Drakar och Demoner – Tronländaren

During the work with Drakar och Demoner – Tronländaren (Thronelander) Simon worked with no less than 40 musicians including a choir. In this video (in Swedish) you can get an insight in the work with the score. Simon like to thank Joel Forssell, the musical assistant and Andreas Doyle who filmed and edited this behind the scenes video. Simon also, of course, like to thank the whole crew and the music department.

A special appearence, in this video, is made by none other than Olle Sahlin who worked with the roleplaying game Drakar and Demoner during the 80s and 90s. Olle end this video with talking about the history and importance of the roleplaying game.
