2019 – A Good Year

2019! It’s been awesome!

I have been working on lots of inspiring, exciting and interesting projects with many great people this year.
Building the Production Company Tulpa Creatives has been demanding and very awarding. We have several projects in development. We are looking forward to 2020 were we will be producing several projects (more on those later on). It’s so much more I could say about this, but I need to keep the lid on for now.

2019 I have finally taken the leap into Digital Releases and 7 albums were released on different labels. Make sure to check out my artist page on Spotify and follow (and of course listen).

My score for The Huntress: Rune of the Dead was completed and released the same day as the film had it’s premier in October. The score has been competing on two festivals, winning on one and been nominated on another. The score has also been given great reviews. I was also one of the Producers of the film and have won awards for that too.

Finally the work I made as a Composer and Producer for Svenska Budo & Kampsportsförbundet was released, I composed the music to a Drama/Comedy TV-series Pilot, made 5 commissioned pieces for Riotminds Trudvang Chronicles: Muspelheim, Produced and Composed music for a commercial and composed music for Podcast’s such as Red Moon Roleplaying.

Together with Joel Forssell I composed the music to the Feature Vitt Skräp (White Trash) that’s finally completed – after many years of getting funding for post-production. The film should have a Theatrical release 2020. With Joel I also had the podcast Musik i Film which I put on ice to work on another podcast which will kick off in 2020 too.

For the second year I hosted and was the chairman of the jury of Film Music Live Festival. I love to be part of that production and looking forward to being involved in it growing.

My work within Distributing and Executive producing has been developed further and I have had the pleasure to work on a couple of films together with Lucky Dogs and my international Distributors/Sales Agents.

I have also been a commentator on three MMA events, two for American TV (Superior Challenge) and one for Aftonbladet (Bulldog Media Fight Night 2.0). I have also been a permanent member of Fighterpodden which is recorded at Bauer Media (DN-huset).

Thanks to everyone who I have worked with this year!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year

Release of Conduct This! Game Music Soundtrack

The Game, Conduct This! Began as a mobile app game created by a small indie studio in Copenhagen called Northplay. The game, inspired by railway games from the 90s, with low poly maps that’s addictive. It’s a puzzle game where you are conducting / managing a train system so that there are as few accidents as possible.

Many reviewers celebrated the graphics, calling it gorgeous and the music outstanding and that the controls are incredibly simple and intuitive, and the puzzles themselves are challenging. My Music, Northplay, wanted me to be inspired by old games from the 90s and Big Band Jazz. A fun task to tackle.

Soon the game became a hit and it won awards on some of the biggest possible award shows for games. Millions upon millions downloaded the app and Northplay started to create more games in what would become a series of games for different platforms surround Conducting trains. Also, an AR version with the focus on Western movies, a collaboration game and a game for the platform STEAM.

Many have asked me to release the Music so here we go. It is now released digitally all over the world. Check it out on places like Spotify, Apple/Itunes, Google Play, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, You can also get it/listen to it at: TikTok, Napster, IHeartRadio, ClaroMusica, Saavn, Anghami, KKbox, MediaNet and even more places. For you in the US the album can also be found on Pandora.

Commisioned themes for Trudvang Chronicles: Muspelheim

One of the most famous and biggest tabletop and roleplay games manufacturers are Riotminds and they create games such as Drakar och Demoner (Trudvang Chronicles) and Götterdämmerung (Lex Occultum). They have several very successful Kickstarter projects behind them and fans all over the world.

As I did the score back in 2012 for “Thronelander”, a Trudvang Chronicles Featurette, I came to enjoy Riotminds even more than before. I later composed the music to their book release of the book “Kabal”, the teaser of Götterdämmerung (Lex Occultum) and 2015 the Original Soundtrack with music from the featurette and also a short film “Giltes Bane” (also 2012). Since then we have been busy working on other projects, so it was a no brainer when I got contacted to compose and produce 5 pieces of music for their second complete regional sourcebook for the world of Trudvang: Muspelheim. The book focus on what’s under the surface of Trudvang, into the realm of the dwarves. This is an extensive book covering the dark and stony underworld beneath the lands of humans and elves.

My participation became official today as their Kickstarter unlocked the stretch goal “Drums of the Deep” consisting of me creating 5 Trudvang Muspelheim themes.

Composing for Film and TV

I am fortunate to have worked diligently and continuously with composing music for film, tv and other projects (mostly before I switched gears to composing for tv, film and games, 2009). In the picture above are some of the projects I have composed for during the last 19 years. As a film composer I have worked professionally for 10 years now, my first album came out 19 years ago (in November).

I am now celebrating 6 years as a Film Producer and I am 100 % sure I will never stop composing music. Right now, I am about to finish my score for the “Viking Saga: Rune of the Dead”.

Exciting season composing two features and more

Things are happening rather rapidly for Simon that does hit his stride composing the scores for no less than two feature films the following month’s (“Vilsen” aka “The Loss” & “Vitt Skräp” aka “White Trash”). Vitt Skräp Simon Kölle is composing together with his friend and colleague Joel Forssell and Vilsen Simon is doing himself. More news and updates about Vilsen and Vitt Skräp will follow the coming months.

Aside of that Simon is right now in the mix of maybe being the composer of a AAA game and several of his recently made short’s, teasers and pilots will be screened at festivals or up and running in other forums. Here’s a short description of the latest shorts/teasers/pilots Simon has written the score for:

A Behind the Music video from the work with Drakar och Demoner – Tronländaren

During the work with Drakar och Demoner – Tronländaren (Thronelander) Simon worked with no less than 40 musicians including a choir. In this video (in Swedish) you can get an insight in the work with the score. Simon like to thank Joel Forssell, the musical assistant and Andreas Doyle who filmed and edited this behind the scenes video. Simon also, of course, like to thank the whole crew and the music department.

A special appearence, in this video, is made by none other than Olle Sahlin who worked with the roleplaying game Drakar and Demoner during the 80s and 90s. Olle end this video with talking about the history and importance of the roleplaying game.
