I am fortunate to have worked diligently and continuously with composing music for film, tv and other projects (mostly before I switched gears to composing for tv, film and games, 2009). In the picture above are some of the projects I have composed for during the last 19 years. As a film composer I have worked professionally for 10 years now, my first album came out 19 years ago (in November).
I am now celebrating 6 years as a Film Producer and I am 100 % sure I will never stop composing music. Right now, I am about to finish my score for the “Viking Saga: Rune of the Dead”.
The Swedish podcast Musik i Film (Music in Film) has the same name as the interest org. I am chariman and one of the founders of. It was supposed to only be about Composers and film Music but rather quickly it occured to me that I wanted to talk to Directors, Producers, Sound people, Actors etc. too. With the red thread though being Music. A podcast about Film Music, Game Music and the Film Industry in general. So far all episodes have been in Swedish.
I run the podcast with my friend Joel Forssell.
Head over to PODCAST and take a listen.
From time to time I am invited to make lectures, write articles and host panels about Film Music. This time I was invited by my friends at Populate to write an article about Film Music. In Swedish.

I have been given the honor to both host and being the chairman of the jury at Live Score Festival Stockholm. It’s a festival truly celebrating Film Music. The Festival features short films with original scores performed live-to-picture. This is the first time such a festival is being held in Sweden and the festival is presented by The Prod in association with Kulturama, Musiker Utan Gränser (Musicians without Borders), Shortly and Musik i Film (MusiF) which is a non profit org. that wish to bring knowledge, interest and more value to Film Music in Sweden. An art sometimes overlooked. Selected film Composers have been paired with filmmakers to create an original score for the festival.
The festival is held at Kulturama in Stockholm, Sweden this sunday and the jury I’ve gathered are fantastic:
- Richard Jarnhed (Director)
- Thomas Lindahl (Composer, Teacher)
- Hans Lundgren (Composer)
- Joakim Tillman (Associate Professor in musicology and Author)
- Shari Strandmark (Director)
- Marina Nyström (Director, Actress)
- Mikael Carlsson (Label Owner, Concert Producer, Composer)
- Alexandra Nilsson (Composer, Board Member of SKAP)
Inspiration is Paramount working with art. I am Always inspired by the Picture I am scoring but it’s also important to bring something to it. Other films and series are of course inspiring and also listening to podcast’s and in my case hosting podcast’s.
Nothing really compares to being out in nature though. Places were photos don’t capture the majestic feeling and the breathtaking views. Inspiration for me also comes by Reading and meeting people. If you boil it down it’s stories really and keeping the imagination going. For me imagination is like a muscle, you need to keep in shape and train it.
This summer I ran a summer camp like I normally do but for once I only took on one Group of leaders and kids. It’s so rewarding and to do something other than I normally do is lot’s of fun. It’s the warmest summer in Sweden ever (or at least since we started recording temp. some 260 years ago) which meant lot’s of bathing in the ocean and in mountain lakes. Me and my partner spent time in the most Southern parts of Sweden and also up in the North. We went canoeing in wonderful places and had a blast with friends and family.
I really needed some time “off” and probably I did not got enough time to really wind down but I should not complain.
Thank you to all of you who made this summer great! More photo’s below… Continue reading “Inspiring vacation”
I held a lecture on Film Music on Stockholm University tonight and I spoke for two hours. I truly like the format and I showed the students material from the films, games and TV-series I’ve composed music for. A truly honoring experience and I gladly return next semester.
Thank you for the invite Joakim Tillman, Associate Professor in musicology at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics.

I am still composing music for the second season of Black Lake (Svartsjön) and will go from that to compose the music (with Moneybrother) to the docuementary I produced. I have also composed the music to my long time friend Daniel Bezares’s TV-series pilot Ahmed.
During the summer (2018) the film “Viking Saga: Rune of the Dead” will be shot in Sweden. I will compose the music. Director is Rasmus Titzitis and the film is written by Faravid Svalfors af Ugglas and Rasmus Tirzitis. The film’s dialouge will be in english and film will be released worldwide by the US company behind the film called ITN. Below is a summary taken from IMDB.

As I produce more and more films I could not say no to the wonderful documentary were a camera crew led by director Titus Paar traveled to Colombia. Together with the my hand picked crew came Anders Wendin aka Moneybrother. In collaboration with HXP Films, Ankarstiftelsen (who build schools in Colombia) and Moneybrother we asked people to donate soccer shoes and sports wear. So after a short stop in Bogota were the team and Moneybrother gave away shoes and clothing to poor kids they traveled to the jungle. Very few camera teams have met with the Kogi tribe and our team ventured far into the jungle and to places no team (as we know of) have been shooting.
Now, we are in the post production part and as soon as I am finished with Black Lake season 2 I will score the documentary together with Moneybrother’s songs. It will be a blast!

I love to work and both to compose, write, develope and produce. As I am working hard with finishing Svartsjön (Black Lake) I have also shifted up a gear as a Film Producer. In the middle of January I sent a team, lead by the director Titus Paar, to Colombia. Along with the team came the famous swedish musician Moneybrother (Anders Wendin). They stayed in Colombia for two weeks helped out building a school in the jungle, gave away soccer shoes to kids in Bogota and much more. It will end up being a documentary in the end. As they were there they, rather spontaneous, made a music video which was released on Expressen the other day.
I am also working with development of several other projects ranging from a TV-series to features and also another documentary.
I am now looking for interesting composing jobs that I can dive into after I have completed the TV-series in may.
2017 have been a good year so far with some commissioned work with Commercials, the release of the original soundtrack of Ave Mater (Vilsen). The completion of the Music for the internationally awarded game “Conduct This!” was inspiring and work for the Uppsala based Company “Populate” was rewarding.
The year, though started off with the long lasting collaboration with Joel Forssell as we finished White Trash (Vitt Skräp), we will go back to it one more time later on when the sound is complete, which is the only thing left to do Before mix.
As of late, I have been working on a Romantic Drama feature. I worked with an Orchestra in Lisabon and also delve into the World of oriental Music.
It is clear that I during the autumn will work with an extensive Project that I cannot reveal yet. Sorry for all the secrecy, but that’s the name of the game.
Besides the composing I am one of the founders of a Swedish interest organization called “Musik I Film” (Music in Film) which will work with spreading knowledge (about) and unity among Music in film, Theatre, media and games.
The Swedish magazine Barrikaden made an interview with me about Ave Mater (Vilsen) soundtrack release. Read the interview HERE.
